Take an ‘awayday’ to back Rotherham campaign.
Sheffield for Europe members are being invited to take an ‘awayday’ and join former Labour Government minister Lord Adonis in taking the case for a People’s Vote on any Brexit deal to the streets of Rotherham tomorrow (Saturday 13 April).
He will join campaigners as they ask people to give their views on the best way to end three years of uncertainty and disruption following the 2016 referendum.
Local campaigners are hoping that members from Sheffield will join them in All Saints Square in the centre of Rotherham, tomorrow morning from 10am.
Support for a confirmatory public vote on a Brexit deal is growing across Yorkshire and this first public campaign event in Rotherham will test the mood.
Lord Adonis served in the last Labour Cabinet as Transport Secretary and is a leading voice calling for an exit deal from the European Union to be put to a public confirmatory vote. He was a speaker at a successful Sheffield for Europe public meeting held earlier this year.
The ‘Brexitometer' will be set up at the event with Saturday shoppers invited to place a star to indicate their preferred option for a way to end the political indecision over Europe.
The People’s Vote campaign stall will be in All Saints' Square in the centre of Rotherham from10am and is expected to run until 1pm on Saturday (13 April). Lord Adonis is expected to attend the first hour or so.
